Colour trends of 2018 so far by Hannah Austin

As we are three months into 2018 we thought we would look into how the colour trends for 2018 are unravelling and with nine months still to go there is still plenty of time to transform your rooms into the latest trends.

So which colours are making an appearance so far this year and hanging around to stay!

Sage green

This shade of green with a touch of grey is proving a hit so far in 2018 due to its subtle colour that is muted but far from dull. It is perfect teamed with creams and woods.

Marigold yellow

This retro colour is having a comeback. After our obsession with mustard this slightly brighter yellow helps the sunshine to arrive even on cold winter days.

It also works really well as a stand out piece of furniture in a darker shaded room.

Ultra violet

Pantones colour for 2018 this dramatic and evocative shade is a brave step to take but one that can really pay off!

Caliente

This strong vibrant red is appealing to fiery, powerful people! But is best contained to active areas in the house rather than spaces to relax and unwind.

Oceanside

This beautiful rich blue is bringing a sense of adventure and wonder into our homes and can make the smallest of spaces feel rich and wonderful.

Blush pink

Neutrals are stepping aside and making way for muted pastels, especially gentle pinks which are a beautiful addition to bedrooms.

Black chiffon

Black built in furniture is appearing all over as a statement masculine addition to a room. With equally bold accessories and good lighting this striking look can be a deep and cosy corner to a home, especially when teemed with rich lustre woods.
